The Syracuse Orange Sox defeated the Frobisher Bay Caribou, 9-6, at Pittodrie Stadium. Syracuse was led by 20-year old left fielder Alex Marrero, who was 4-5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. The Orange Sox are now 60-40, while the Caribou fall to 75-25.

Syracuse used a clutch at-bat from Jose Tamez to capture the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Orange Sox ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I felt good up there," said Tamez. "I saw the ball well."
