Sabercats Subdue St. Paul, 2-1
|
In a tight game between the Sedona Sabercats and the St. Paul Grognards, pitcher Andres Najera was terrific on the mound. The Sedona left-hander was named the player of the game in Sedona's 2-1 win. Getting the save was Eddie Golde, his 5th. Sedona is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Sedona used the timely hitting of Eric Bridges to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Sabercats on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Bridges, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
