Orange Sox Win, Garcia goes 3-for-5
|
In a high-scoring contest between Syracuse and Easton, catcher Carlos Garcia was a difference-maker. Garcia distinguished himself in the 18-9 Syracuse win. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The losses continue to mount for Easton, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Alex Marrero had a big 2-run double for the Orange Sox in the top of the fourth inning. With Syracuse leading 3-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 20-year old shortstop Diego Alarcon and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orange Sox ahead, 5-1.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Easton manager Mekonnen Asani.
