Valdez on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
Requiring speed, power, and regular contact, the cycle is often seen as a test of a complete hitter. For Edgar Valdez, consider that test passed.

The 20-year-old shortstop hit for the cycle at The Lair at Sabercat Field, to help the Sedona Sabercats triumph, 9-1, over the Wichita Storm. All told, Valdez delivered 4 hits in 4 at-bats with 6 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.

"It feels good of course, but I'm not going to kid anyone -- there's a lot of luck in hitting for the cycle," he said after the game. "Several unique things have to come together all in the same game."
