The Coronado Islanders clobbered the Normal Nutcrackers, 15-2, at The Nutcracker Suite. Coronado center fielder Marco Moreno led the onslaught. He belted 3 home runs. He drove in 11 runs and scored three times. Coronado, at 53-43, occupies third place in the TML R Otto Velez Division.

With Coronado leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Moreno hit a fastball from Ruben Cruz for a grand slam home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Islanders ahead, 5-0.

"I thought we'd at least be more competitive," said losing manager Juan Colo.
