The Yuma Varmits got a rain-soaked win over the Key West Thunder at The Range.

Yuma Varmits starter Joel Elkins was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Key West Thunder, 4-3. Paul Antoinette got the save, the 9th for him this season.

The Varmits got a big at-bat from second baseman Alberto Gomez. For the game, Gomez went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Yuma a 4-2 lead.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Elkins.
