Larvae Raise Rally Flag, Beat Rosewell, 5-4
|
The Larvae had to overcome a fine effort from Rosewell pitcher Clark Griswold to grab a narrow 5-4 win at The Queen. Griswold went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was The Stinging reliever Gil Agostini, now 1-4. The loser was Chris Abbate. With the win, The Stinging has a record of 21-30. Rosewell falls to 39-12.
Tied up with the Tribbles in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Larvae got a boost from catcher Alejandro Medrano. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Medrano saw a 0-2 fastball from Chris Abbate and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put The Stinging on top, 5-4.
"It feels good to get this one," Medrano told the The Stinging Today.
