The Thunder Bay Lighting and Frobisher Bay Caribou played an entertaining game for Lightning Grove patrons.

The Thunder Bay Lighting bested the Frobisher Bay Caribou by a score of 4-3, in 10 innings. Tim Weaver deserved much of the credit. On the day, Weaver was 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Lighting. The win belonged to Bobby Kolar in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Bruce Ray took the loss for Frobisher Bay.

The decisive blow was delivered by Esteban Gonzalez in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Bruce Ray to win the game for Thunder Bay. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Gonzalez hailed his team's "mettle."

Thunder Bay, at 65-21, is cruising.
