Fans who gathered at Sacred Kinkaku-ji Grounds saw a good contest between the Caribbean Commies and Kyoto Strong Style.

The Kyoto Strong Style got a superb performance from pitcher Alex Guerra. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Caribbean. The Commies won the game, 2-0. In spite of the loss, Guerra was named the player of the game. He threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. Dan Bowlan got the win, improving to 1-2. He held the Strong Style to no earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4.

The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Jeff Ramsey didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Kyoto trailing 2-0, Ramsey retired Rod Estrella to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Ramsey, with a wink.

The Commies go to 21-29, putting them 5th in the RCLR John Mayberry Division.
