The Frobisher Bay Caribou topped the Thunder Bay Lighting, 6-3, in RCL R action at Lightning Grove. The standout performance belonged to Frobisher Bay pitcher and Caguas, Puerto Rico, native Eddie Contreras. The RCL R John Mayberry Division-leading Caribou have a record of 68-23.

It could have been a different outcome for Frobisher Bay, had it not been for Kazushige Kawada, the 18-year old shortstop . Kawada contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Frobisher Bay up, 2-0.

Kawada told a Frobisher Bay Gazette reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
