Vandermolen Sizzles -- Smokes Caterpillars for 5 Hits
No matter what the Easton Caterpillars threw at him, Aaron Vandermolen hit it. He easily handled Caterpillars pitching, going 5 for 7 and helping the Orange Sox triumph, 28-2, at Syracuse Fields.

"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.

Told of Vandermolen's quip, Caterpillars skipper Mekonnen Asani said he "would take him up on that next time."

Aaron Vandermolen grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 7th, tripled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Fidel de Arcos in the 8th.

This season, Vandermolen has banged out 72 hits in 222 at-bats for a .324 average with 10 home runs. He is getting on base at a .487 pace and his totals also include 54 RBIs and 63 runs scored.
