The Victoria Totems grabbed a 7-2 win over the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas at Royal Athletic Park. Victoria right fielder David Anders went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Rainer Evans, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits in 8.2 innings. The Totems, now 30-18, have won 9 in a row.
The Totems beat the Fighting Iguanas with some clutch hitting. The home run by Bill Buckner Jr. in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Buckner Jr. gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"We feel like we're going to win every game right now," said Victoria skipper Albert Giles.
