The Montreal Mounties got a stellar effort from pitcher Brad Steck, helping Montreal score a win over the visiting Vancouver Pioneers, 5-2. Steck, now 7-4, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Evan Tedford wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.

Cecil Sauls went 1 for 2 with 2 walks for Montreal. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Igor Kovalev. It was his 31st RBI of the season.

"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Mounties manager Julián Martínez.

The Mounties now own a record of 42-38.
