Thanks in large part to center fielder Gene Johnson, the Montreal Mounties beat the Bloomington Blazers, 8-6. Johnson went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. First Baseman Chris Romanko made an impact for Montreal, when he swatted a 3-run home run off Humberto Diaz in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Romanko went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.
