The Manchester Mooses defeated the The Stinging Larvae, 7-5, in RCL R action at Moose Head Stadium. Manchester pitcher Ruben Fernandez had a standout performance. With the victory, the Mooses upped their record to 45-42.

Mario Laque had a big 2-run double for the Mooses in the bottom of the third inning. With Manchester leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Ortega and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mooses ahead, 4-1.

"Ruben just settled in and did what he does," said Manchester manager Rodney Beam.
