Honu Tag Bison with 4-3 Loss
|
The Hawaii Honu racked up a win at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium, bumping off the Buffalo Bison, 4-3. Jose Medrano, who started for Hawaii, pitched effectively for his team. Medrano picked up the win for Hawaii, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-2. Karl Molnar recorded the save for Hawaii, his 21st of the season.
The Honu got a big at-bat from designated hitter Miles Sorrells. For the game, Sorrells went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 22nd double of the season gave Hawaii a 2-0 lead.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Buffalo skipper Jon Green.
Hawaii is now 48-46.
