Parise Goes Off, But Caribou Win
Dan Parise did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Caribbean Commies from losing, 6-5, to the Frobisher Bay Caribou at Castro Field. Parise belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win was Roberto Arenas's in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Orlando Bernal took the loss for Caribbean. Even with the win, the Caribou have a dismal 12-33 record.

Frobisher Bay used the timely hitting of Andy Thigpen to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Caribou on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Thigpen said.
