Barbados first baseman Tony Melendez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Revenge dropped a 5-4 decision to Oconto Falls at The Cove. Melendez went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. David Bonilla, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 5-6. Alex de Jesus picked up the save for Oconto Falls, his 4th of the year.
The Timbers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dave Vargas. For the game, Vargas was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Oconto Falls a 2-0 lead.
Vargas attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
