Captains Beat KO in 11
|
Clearlake and Long Beach played a hard-fought contest at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker.
The Long Beach KO wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Antonio Torres, falling 2-1 to the Clearlake Captains at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker. Clearlake is now 20-24.
Clearlake used the timely hitting of Antonio Escobar to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Captains on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant George Corbett, the Clearlake skipper.
