Carrollton Rangers starter Ruben Castro found his groove in his team's 10-5 win over the Normal Nutcrackers. Castro got the win, improving to 8-4. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the win, the Rangers have a record of 47-38.

Adam Gibson had a big solo home run for the Rangers in the top of the third inning. With Carrollton leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from 16-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Becerra and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 2-0.

"Ruben had good arm action, good stuff," said Carrollton manager Hung-chang Chao.
