The Walnut Creek Warriors pounded the Pennsylvania Butterflies, 15-2, at The Kaleidoscope. Fred Dempsey had a solid game. He was 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Warriors. The first-place Warriors go to 57-37.

Walnut Creek won the game in part because of Tony Curiel. The left fielder ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Warriors ahead, 8-0. For the game, Curiel had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Wish we could take a mulligan," said losing manager Aaron Barnes.
