In a low-scoring contest between the Savannah Peaches and the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, Sal Santiago, who is tied for 10th in the TR with a 1.52 WHIP, proved to be the difference. The Savannah right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Peaches win. Earning his 10th save of the year was Hideto Miyamoto. The first-place Peaches have a record of 55-27.

Ryan Roy had a big 2-run home run for the Peaches in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Savannah leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from Fernando Arriaga, who is tied for 7th in the RR with a 4.76 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Peaches on top, 3-0.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Santiago.
