Islanders Down Fighting Iguanas, 7-5
|
The Coronado Islanders defeated the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 7-5, at Barack H. Obama Park. Leading the charge for Coronado was center fielder Kevin Enders. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win was credited to 20-year old right-handed pitcher Nick Rosin in relief. His record improves to 8-2. Andrew Harris took the loss. Coronado now sports a record of 44-40.
Coronado took a 7-2 lead on Enders's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Andrew Harris in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Coronado to the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Enders said.
