Scripps Field was the site of a tense game between the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas and Frobisher Bay Caribou.
Frobisher Bay turned a good effort from starter Nestor Dominguez into a win over the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas at Scripps Field. The Caribou won the game, 3-2. The winner was Dominguez. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Randy Savage. Getting the save was Bruce Ray, his 11th.
The Caribou got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Hale. For the game, Hale was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Frobisher Bay a 2-0 lead.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Dominguez.
Frobisher Bay is now 39-28, while Boca Raton is 14-53.
