Unpei Sakamoto made an impact in the 8-4 Carrollton win over Rosewell. Sakamoto, who is rated as the 61st best prospect by BNN, went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Estevan Lujan picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Ray Briggs was tagged with the loss. The win puts Carrollton at 44-37 this season.
Javier Santos had a big run-scoring double for the Rangers in the bottom of the second inning. With Carrollton leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Briggs and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.
"I like winning," Sakamoto told the Carrollton Bulletin. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
