Syracuse Rallies for 6-3 Victory
|
In the 6-3 Syracuse win over Normal, the impact of Bobby Gastelum was substantial. Gastelum, who is tied for 4th in the RR in triples with 4, was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Kevin Froehle, who threw 113 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. Getting the save was Jake Parisi, his 4th.
Gastelum had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 splitter from Jesus Araiza, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Orange Sox a 6-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Gastelum.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Gastelum. "The only team that can beat us is us."
The Orange Sox are now 48-33.
