Manhattan Slice starter Elliott Mann found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Huntington Station Ramrods. Mann picked up the win for Manhattan, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Josh Showalter earned the save, his 1st.
Manhattan used a timely hit from Jong-Min Kim Jr. to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Slice ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Huntington Station manager Paco Berroa said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The win takes Manhattan to 5-4.
