Cougars in Free Fall, Lose 10th Straight
The Lair at Sabercat Field was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

In a low-scoring tilt between the Sedona Sabercats and the Prince George Cougars, 18-year old right-handed pitcher Phil Clark was the difference-maker. The Sedona right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Jose Valdez, 5-9, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Sedona pinch hitter Luis Currea, facing Oscar Delgado, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Sabercats the 2-1 win.

"The want-to is there for our guys," said Prince George manager Sergio Martínez. "We'll get this thing turned around."

The misery continues for the Cougars, who have now dropped 10 in a row.
