Ted McCoy led Key West to a win over Syracuse. The final score was 9-5. McCoy scored 2 times, going 4 for 6. He also knocked in 1 RBI. Danny Vasquez locked down his 1st save. The Thunder move to 33-26 with the win, while the Orange Sox drop to 41-18.

Jason Merck had a big 2-run home run for the Thunder in the top of the fourth inning. With Key West leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Wilson Leyba and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Thunder on top, 5-2.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Merck told the Key West Chronicle.
