Behind a fine performance from Manny Bobadilla, the Thunder Bay Lighting knocked off the Caribbean Commies, 9-0. Bobadilla went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Lighting. George Main picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-1. He struck out 7 in 6.1 innings. The Lighting improved to a lofty 47-14.

In the bottom of the sixth, Thunder Bay center fielder Juan Griego had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Griego stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Thunder Bay. For the game, he went 1-3 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
