The 7-4 Caribbean win over Thunder Bay was due largely to Danny Lopez. The Commies catcher went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Alex Soto got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Getting the save was Sal Penalosa, his 5th.
Caribbean took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Keraja Osei hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Commies in front, 6-4.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Osei.
The Commies now own a record of 24-36.
