Izzy Porras had a strong outing for the Rockville Rangers against the Caribbean Commies at Castro Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The win was credited to 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jesus Gonzalez in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Luis Sanchez took the loss. The third-place Rangers sport a record of 29-30.
Rockville needed the clutch hitting of Chris DiDonato to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers on top, 3-2. For the game, DiDonato had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
