The Thunder Bay Lighting pounded the Wichita Storm, 16-1, at Lightning Grove. Thunder Bay center fielder Chandler Pardy had a solid game. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs for the Lighting. David Garcia, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. The victory gives Thunder Bay a record of 40-36.

David Wolffe had a big grand slam home run for the Lighting in the bottom of the second inning. With Thunder Bay leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Domingo Salazar and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lighting ahead, 5-0.

Lighting manager Masamune Fujimoto had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
