The Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas converted a terrific effort from starter Gabe Garza into a win over the Syracuse Orange Sox at Scripps Field. The Fighting Iguanas won the game by a final score of 5-2. Grant Corder closed it out for his 4th save. Boca Raton is 5th in the RCL R John Mayberry Division with a record of 21-37.

Jose Valentin hit a 2-run double off Mario Herrera in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Fighting Iguanas in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Valentin had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

Garza attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
