The exploits of designated hitter Sandy Santos, who is tied for 10th in the RR in triples with 3, helped the Brooklyn Cyclones defeat the Coronado Islanders, 4-2. Santos went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win puts Brooklyn at 40-35 this season.
Santos had a timely hit for Brooklyn in the bottom of the seventh. With Brooklyn trailing 2-1, he turned a full count sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Brooklyn.
