Christmas Jones did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Yuma Varmits from losing, 4-3, to the Erie Seawolves at The Range. Jones was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kyuuya Nakagawa earned the win for Erie. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 8 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 4-3. Juan Miramontes earned the save for Erie, his 7th.

It could have been a different outcome for Erie, had it not been for Jose Mendez, the 21-year old third baseman . Mendez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Erie up, 4-3.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mendez.

Erie, now 15-17, holds 5th place in the TMLR Otto Velez Division.
