Seawolves Get Close Win Over Varmits
The Yuma Varmits and Erie Seawolves provided some drama at The Range.

Erie left fielder Casey Hill made his presence felt in the 4-3 Seawolves triumph over the Yuma Varmits. Hill went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jason Johnson got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Juan Miramontes earned his 6th save in 6 tries.

Erie needed the clutch hitting of Carlos Nolasco to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Seawolves on top, 4-3. For the game, Nolasco had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hill.

Erie's record now stands at 14-17, placing them 5th in the TMLR Otto Velez Division.
