The Thunder Bay Lighting beat the Caribbean Commies, 4-2, at Castro Field. Garret Daley went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. The 21-year old second baseman was a menace to Caribbean all day. The Lighting saw their win-loss record go to 30-21. At the same time, the Commies fell to 17-34.

It could have been a different outcome for Thunder Bay, had it not been for Antonio Marquez, the 19-year old catcher . Marquez contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Thunder Bay up, 4-2.

Caribbean manager Atamas Manas, after the game, said, "Right now, we're just not getting that big hit."
