The Paradise Island Pirates beat the Manchester Mooses, 7-3, at Predator Park. Tim Nichols, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Paradise Island leads the TML R Fred McGriff Division by 2½ games.

The Pirates got a big at-bat from designated hitter Willis Valderrama. For the game, Valderrama went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Paradise Island a 4-0 lead.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Nichols told the Paradise Island News.
