Alexander Goes Wild, But Seawolves Win
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Erie Seawolves got the win.
Sedona designated hitter Guy Alexander had a good game, even if his team did not. The Sabercats dropped a 3-2 decision to Erie at The Lair at Sabercat Field. Alexander hit 2 home runs. Kyuuya Nakagawa was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. Juan Miramontes picked up the save for Erie, his 4th of the year.
Chipping in for Erie was shortstop Izzy Cruz. He stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, Cruz went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Erie manager Jorge Matos said.
Erie is now 12-15, Sedona 9-18.
