Coronado and Easton exchanged punches and in the end the Islanders won the slugfest.

In a game featuring no shortage of runs, the Coronado Islanders defeated the Easton Caterpillars, 15-13. One of the hitting stars was Coronado designated hitter Matt Brock. Brock went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Coronado reliever Jose Rico picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Kevin Edwards took the loss.

Mike Schreiner had a big 2-run double for the Islanders in the top of the fifth inning. With Coronado trailing 8-7 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 20-year old right fielder Kevin Edwards and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Islanders ahead, 9-8.

Coronado manager Ed Lenhardt was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The triumph puts Coronado at 38-32 for the season.
