The Thunder Bay Lighting topped the Rockville Rangers, 6-5, in 11 innings. Thunder Bay third baseman Garret Daley, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Bobby Kolar in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Lee Moore took the loss. The losses continue to pile up for Rockville, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.

Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 19-year old shortstop Francisco Cabrera had a real shot to win the game. Rockville pitcher Momosuke Egawa was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Cabrera hit a run-scoring single. The Lighting had a walk-off triumph.

"We've got to get out of this funk," said Rockville manager Sylvester Richardson.
