Nutcrackers Earn 3-2 Win Versus Cyclones
The Normal Nutcrackers had to overcome a good performance from Brooklyn pitcher Jorge Torres to claim a 3-2 win at The Lava Flow. Torres went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. The Nutcrackers move to 27-38 with the win, while the Cyclones drop to 34-30.

Normal used the timely hitting of Jonathan Roman to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Nutcrackers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Roman. "Obviously."
