Prince George Sunk by Key West, 3-2
|
Prince George designated hitter Eddie Wooldridge had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Wooldridge was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times, even as Key West beat the Cougars, 3-2. Alex Moreno, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. The Thunder, now 20-15, know that wins in July count the same as wins in September.
The Thunder got a big at-bat from second baseman Dave Quintero. For the game, Quintero was 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Key West a 3-2 lead.
Quintero told reporters after the game: "All's well that ends well."
