8-7 Montreal Loss Tarnishes Najera's Fine Effort
|
The Syracuse Orange Sox weathered an outstanding game by Montreal left fielder Alex Najera to topple the Cardinals, 8-7. Najera was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. After today's action, Syracuse sits at 34-28; Montreal slips to 43-19.
Victor Ruiz helped out the Syracuse cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ruiz told the Syracuse Times.
