The Sylva Miners picked up a win at Pickaxe Field, knocking off the Prince George Cougars, 7-4. Starting pitcher Jim Jones was a big reason why. The winner was Jones. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Luke Hopkins. Jeremy Remington wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.
Hunter Thibault, who is tied for 3rd in the RR in triples with 2, helped out the Sylva cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Sylva manager Armando Medina.
The first-place Miners have a one-game lead in their division.
