The Brooklyn Cyclones handed the Caribbean Commies a 6-2 defeat at The Lava Flow. Second Baseman Forrest Backstrom starred for Brooklyn. He was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Brooklyn pitcher Jorge Melgoza earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Francisco Castillo suffered the loss. With the win, Brooklyn upped its record to 15-14.

With one out in the bottom of the first, John Easter put Brooklyn in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Cyclones went on to win the ballgame.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Atamas Manas.
