Fighting Iguanas Dealt 10-5 Loss by Normal
|
The inspired effort of Boca Raton first baseman Jon Leal was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-5, to the Normal Nutcrackers. Leal hit 2 home runs. Emil Weiss, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 13. His record now stands at 2-0. The victory puts Normal at 24-35.
In the bottom of the fourth, Jesus Urrutia delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Normal center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Nutcrackers in front, 10-5.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Urrutia told the Normal Bulletin.
