Thunder Bay pitcher Wynn Backstrom did his part in helping his team defeat the Prince George Cougars, 5-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Bobby Kolar earned his 6th save, after closing out the game. With the win, Thunder Bay pushed its record to 18-5.

Backstrom, the winner, is now 3-1. In 7 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 3 hits, while collecting 9 Ks. He essentially shut down the Prince George offense.
