Thanks in large part to first baseman Vincent Navarro, the Caribbean Commies beat the Key West Thunder, 10-5. Navarro went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Caribbean is now 10-15, Key West 13-12.

Koju Kurosaki had a big 2-run home run for the Commies in the bottom of the third inning. With Caribbean leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Aldana and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Commies on top, 4-1.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Caribbean manager Atamas Manas.
