The Caterpillars grabbed a win, 6-4, at Moose Head Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Manchester pitcher Jose Alegria. Alegria went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Kensaku Nakamura was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Melvin Guzman. Carlos Rodriguez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

It could have been a different outcome for Easton, had it not been for Tim Taft, the 21-year old third baseman . Taft contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the tenth inning to put Easton up, 6-4.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Taft.

Today's win puts Easton at 10-13, while Manchester falls to 10-13.
