The Sylva Miners rolled to an easy 5-0 win over the Caribbean Commies at Pickaxe Field. Leading the way was starter Bobby Chavarin, who limited the Caribbean Commies to 8 hits.

"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Chavarin said in his postgame press conference.

Chavarin has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 4-1 record with a 2.02 ERA. The Sylva reliever has limited opposing batters to a .201 batting average.
