Poto Makura had a strong outing for the Yuma Varmits against the Easton Caterpillars at The Range. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Arturo Ramirez, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Yuma has now won 5 straight, while the Caterpillars have lost 7 in a row.

Jon Escobar was the walk-off hero for Yuma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Varmits left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

After the game, Yuma manager Vinny Aceves applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
